DAY 2 –
OBIDOS
110km
 – 3h30
By the country lanes, we reach our first medieval and typically Portuguese destination. The town of Obidos, with its cobbled streets and fortifications, has remained authentic and remarkably well preserved. We have the rest of the day to experience life as it was in the Middle Ages.
DAY 4 –
BRANCO
130km
 – 4h00
Before heading to the small Portuguese Venice with its gondolas, we make a stop at one of the oldest universities in Europe. Founded in the late 13th century, it still welcomes students to this day and boasts a splendid baroque library.
DAY 6 –
GERES
130km
 – 4h00
We leave the city life behind and head north to one of Portugal's most beautiful castles, that of Guimarães. It doesn't seem to have aged a day, so well preserved it is. We end the day near the Peneda-Gerês National Park.
DAY 8 –
PINHAO
205km
 – 4h00
Known for being the first wine region in Portugal, the Douro Valley has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. Some call it enchanting because of its exceptional beauty. The riverbanks, hillsides, and winding roads become a source of admiration. A boat trip on the Douro and an evening of wine tasting add to the experience.
DAY 10 –
MARVAO
215km
 – 4h30
We leave the mountainous regions to explore the Alentejo, which boasts the most beautiful villages in the country. Built on mountainsides, promontories, or within fortified walls, they commonly overlook the surrounding areas. It's in one of these villages that our day will end.
DAY 12 –
ALBUFEIRA
265km
 – 5h45
In the heart of the Serra do Caldeirão, grow trees highly prized by NASA, artists, and especially by our Champagne winemakers. One of the most beautiful roads in Portugal leads us through cork oak plantations, to our relaxation stop.
DAY 14 –
SANTIAGO
170km
 – 4h00
The extreme west of the Algarve is also full of fascinating views plunging down to the coastal shores. We stop for a mini-cruise to appreciate up close this wonderful rugged coastline. Then we hop back on the saddle and head north.
DAY 16 –
LISBONNE
30km
 – 1h00
In the early hours along the Tagus River, we enjoy our final spins before returning our bikes and strolling through the heart of the capital. Until the following afternoon, depending on our respective interests, we will freely indulge in the countless joys and pleasures of the Portuguese capital. Departure for Paris in the early evening on day 17.
